Kylie Jo: September 21, 2009

This week we never saw the sun! That was so crazy! I think that is the first time on my mission that we have had nasty weather like that. The rain was crazy everyday and if it wasn't raining it was misting. That made the week hard. The sun makes people happy and we only get to teach happy people. So we worked a lot. One day we were so blessed! We have been working hard trying to find people to teach, so we were out knocking on doors and we were able to talk to a lot of people. Sadly none of them are really interested, but that was the worst emotional day for us. We just wanted to stay in (sick of the rain), but we knew we needed to go out and that the Lord would bless us. AND HE DID!! It was so cool! We ended up having a lot of fun that day and we felt so much better at the end of the day. It ended up to be the best day of the week.

I was talking to President Drewes a while ago and asked him if I could read some books that some of the members here had been talking about. The books sound really interesting, they are about problems that people have with the LDS church. Like one is about Mormons and Polygamy. They sound great. Well President Drewes told me that they are really good books, but that he wanted me to focus my studies on the scriptures and Jesus the Christ. He also said that he thinks I will enjoy those books when I get home, so I have been very focused on the scriptures lately. I have acctually focused on the Old Testament and Jesus the Christ. It has been really cool!! I really want to finish both the Bible and Jesus the christ before I go home... I have a long way to go, but I know that it will be good for me and make a huge difference in my teaching. It will help my teaching so much, because I will be able to understand and relate to what people around here believe. I'm excited! Anyway we didn't have to much of an eventful week but it was really good. A lot of work done and a lot more to do.
