(I decided to just paste Kylie's letters into her blog.)
So, this week is transfer week, and I am the one to hit the road this time. I have been in Germantown for about six months. Man time really does fly! I don't really like it. But I am going to be leaving on a VERY GOOD NOTE!
Since Annette's baptism was on Friday I will take you through our week so you can wait like we did, ok? So Monday was good, Tuesday was FUN, Wednesday was good, and Thursday, well it was interesting. FRIDAY we had a baptism!
Ok now I'll really tell you about the week. Tuesday we went to the Boldings for a birthday dinner. They had signed up to feed us on my birthday, but weren't able to. They decided to pretend it was my birthday on Tuesday. That was really fun! We had what they call "little fatties” Oh man they are so stinkin good!! They are steaks. I love them! They have to be made with love and on coals. Not gas. But oh man they are GREAT!! So that was fun, and they had Sister Campbell and Sister Laulu over, because it was Sister Laulu's birthday on the 21st. It was really fun! I love the Boldings and man I'm going to miss going to dinner with them every week! They are so fun! Mom and Dad you are going to love them when you meet them in February!
Thursday, like I said it was interesting. We were going through our day like normal, and we were getting ready to go to our appointment that we had with Ron and Wyvetta Mclemore when we got a text message from Annette. She told us that she was headed home to take David to the emergency room!! That is all she said! Then like five minutes later we got a call from the Duncan's house and it was Ashley saying that she just called 9-1-1 to come get her dad and take him to the emergency room! Ok now we are just about to leave and can't do anything. We called Brother Klepko (ward mission leader), he was coming with us to the Mclemore's, and we told him to bring some oil for a blessing, and that we were going to stop at the hospital after our appointment. We went to our appointment, and they had forgotten about us coming over. We talked for just a second then we went straight to the hospital. I'm sorry to say, but I think that was the best thing that could happen that night. So we got to the hospital and went into the ER to find David and Annette. As we walked in to the "room" that David was in you could see that he didn't think he was going to make it. He and Annette both had been CRYING and David was holding on to Annette with everything that he could. It was the worst thing I have seen. I was really scared! David and Annette asked us if we would pray with them. Brother Klepko offered the prayer and then we talked for a while. The nurses came in and took David to get a chest x-ray. While he was gone we reminded Annette that David could have a blessing if he wanted it. Annette said that David isn't really into all of that, so no blessing. We just talked and helped him not worry so much. His blood pressure was out of control! It was 190/90 something when he was taken into the ER. While we were visiting with Annette she said that she was still going to be at the baptism, but that she wasn't sure if David was. She knew he would be alive and was willing to just leave him in the hospital while she was baptized (I love her). By the time we left the hospital David's blood pressure was almost normal. He was feeling a lot better, but they did tell him he would have to stay the night at least in the hospital to do more testing. My goal was to NOT go to the hospital this week. Well I didn't meet that goal!FRIDAY!~~ Friday morning Annette called us and asked if we would take lunch over to the hospital for David and everyone that was there (David's dad, Annette's mom and dad, and her Aunt). So Annette brought us the food and told us that David was feeling better. That was good. Then we did out weekly planning... not fun... and we were getting ready to walk to the hospital when Annette called us and told us that David had been released from the hospital and was on his way home. Annette called us when they got home and we took the food over. Then we had a lot of fun with Annette shopping for something for her to wear to her baptism. That was fun! I love her!! We had a baptism that night and everything worked out perfect!! We sang scatter sunshine for the opening hymn (Annette's favorite) then Sister Klepko gave a talk about baptism. Then Sister Page and Ashley sang a song called Life's Railway to Heaven. It was really good. THEN THE BAPTISM!! OH IT WAS GREAT! Annette asked her home teacher to do it, he is 17. It was really cool. He had no idea what he was doing so some of the RMs in the ward helped him. It was fun! He did great! He was nervous, but did GREAT!! Then we had time for testimonies. That was great. Annette knows so many people in the ward that we didn't have any empty time. After Annette came back in (30 min later) Sister Prows gave a talk on the Holy Ghost. Then all of the welcomes, Relief society, Bishop, and Stake President. Then we sang Come thou Fount. It was so GREAT!! After the Baptism David asked Brother Prows for a blessing, because he had a dream that he had a blessing and he was healed... SO he got his blessing and his arm is feeling so GREAT! And there is more to the dream, David said that after he was healed that Brother Prows told him that that was a sign, and David said I know I need to get baptized!! So now he needs to get baptized!!! He will and I'm not going to be here to see it... :( maybe I can come back like Sister Page for the baptism... I hope so!
Sunday was GREAT! Annette was confirmed and she looked so happy! She knows she has done what she needed to! I'm so happy for her! AND Brother Prows was talking to David, and David said his arm is feeling so much better and that he knows what that means. He really is going to be baptized soon!! I'm so happy for that family! I have been SO BLESSED TO BE HERE!! I'm going to miss Germantown so much! I just wish I could take all of the people with me to a new place. I'm excited to see what my next area is going to be like, but I'm so sad to be leaving these wonderful people!! Oh I don't like transfers!!!
I love you all! I hope you had a fantastic week!!
I'll let you know where I am and my new address next week.
