Kylie and her companion have been working very hard over the last few weeks and months. They have been working with the Duncan Family very intensively and have made huge strides. The father gave permission for his daughter to be baptized a few months ago and has welcomed the missionaries into his home. Now the mother is interested in hearing the discussions and would like to progress towards joining the church. However, her husband, while he supports the church (he even stopped paying offerings to their other church and started paying tithing) isn't ready to convert and doesn't want his wife to do it without him. That has been hard on the mother. Kylie asks that everyone pray for the family.
Kylie said she had a good "FORF of July" (inside joke sorry). It all started with a ward breakfast then a big list of people to visit so they wouldn't have to tract all day. They only knocked on the 3 doors before the person they were going to visit and 3 past the person they were going to visit. They were able to hang out with a couple different families and watch the families light off fireworks. (Missionaries aren't allowed to play with fireworks.) Kylie said it was weird to have another holiday that is so heavy with family traditions and not have family around but that it is getting a little easier.
Transfers are this coming week and we'll see what happens with Kylie and her companionship.
