Kylie completed 9 months on June 3rd. We are marking and celebrating the day as her half way point but since she is coming home on February 9 she is actually more than half way done. I'm so happy about that. Kylie's "half way" mark fell on the same day that her former companion Sister Wall went home. Kylie really loved Sister Wall and is sad that she won't get to see her around the mission any more.
Kylie and Her current companion Sister Page have been working with Ashley's (the girl that got baptized recently) mom to help her stop smoking. Annette committed to the challenge and as of Monday night she has not had a cigarette in an entire week. They are counting her as a non-smoker now. Kylie and Sister Page are very excited for the progess they are making with this family. And speaking of this family, Kylie and Sister Page got to spend a little extra bonding time with them last week during the TORNADO WARNINGS. Kylie and Sister Page "hunkered down" with the Duncan family to wait out the tornado. Kylie said the tornado didn't actually hit in Germantown but they did get to hide in a closet and hear the tornado warning sirens. A little scary. But we got a little added bonus out of the situation. Annette Duncan called my parents to let them know that Kylie was with them and safe and while she on the phone (leaving a message) we could hear Kylie giggle and talk a little in the back ground. She sounded just like the same old Kylie that everyone knows and loves. The picture below is a sign Sister Page made.
And according to Kylie this is a place to get great BBQ in Germantown.
